A Vicious Assault

October 9, 1913

On Tuesday night shortly after 10 o’clock while returning to their house in Springfield Avenue, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Weer were set upon by Negroes who hurled stones at them from the shadows.

Fortunately none of the stones reached the mark and Mr. and Mrs. weer succeeded in reaching their house in safety. Every effort is being made to apprehend the assailants. If caught they should be punished to the limit of the law. Such occurrences must cease in this community.
