Carroll County History – PTA Workshop In County Set For May 17th

The Fifth Annual Workshop of the Carroll County Council of PTA’s will be held in the Westminster Elementary School, Center Street. Westminster on Tuesday, May 17 at 7:30 P.M.

Mrs. Cecil Ewing, President of the Maryland Congress of Parents and Teachers, will speak on the topic, “What is a PTA”. she has been active in local PTA work in Cecil County for many years as well as serving diligently and faithfully on the state level. Her sincerity of purpose in promoting PTA work on the local and state level have been responsible to a large extent for the growth of PTA membership in this state.

Dr. Margaret Conant, Second Vice-President of the Maryland Congress of Parents and Teachers and past Council President, will be present also. She will discuss the subject, “Responsibilities of Leadership–Techniques of Promoting Interest and Participation”. Dr. Conant has a Doctorate in Education and has also been very active in PTA promotion in the state and local level.

Members of the Carroll County Council of PTA’s are proud to announce that Mrs. Ewing and Dr. Conant will be present for this workshop and urge all interested parents and citizens to take advantage of this opportunity. There will also be interesting displays and ideas for local PTA programs.

Mr. Paul K. Dell, President of the CCPTA, will preside at the workshop.
