Death of S. T. C. Brown, Esq.

December 9 1876

Democratic Advocate

The many friends of this gentleman throughout the State will learn with regret of his death, which occurred at his residence, near Sykesville, on Wednesday last. Mr. Brown was an active, thoroughgoing man in all his relations, was generous of heart and a good citizen and neighbor. In 1856 he was elected to the Legislature, the only instance of his acceptance of public trust, preferring the quiet of a country home to that of political excitement. Mr. Brown was in the 56th year of his age, and his remains were interred at Springfield Church on Friday last. His death was caused by disease of the liver, and he had been confined to the house for several weeks.
