“Drug Abuse” To Be PTA Topic Here

January 19, 1967

Lieut. M. P. Kradz, of the Investigative Division, Howard County Police Department, and a representative of the Drug Abuse Commission of the Federal Government will present a highly important program for the benefit of the Sykesville PTA and other interested parents at the next PTA meeting on Monday, Feb. 6.

The topic to be discussed will deal with the so-called “pep pills,” sedatives and other drugs that are being used by some segment of the school population in the Maryland area.

Considerable publicity was given to this type of drug abuse in a neighboring county recently and Mr. Kenneth Hollingsworth, program chairman, secured the services of these two gentlemen to present a program locally.

A highly informative motion picture on drug abuse will be a part of the presentation.
