Freedom School Globe Trotters Remain Unbeaten

The Globe Trotters remained undefeated last week in the Freedom School Basketball League by picking up three wins to boost their record to 6-0. Kenny Costley was the star in all three contests scoring 11, 18, and 10 in wins over the Raiders 11-2, Professionals 18-3, and the most impressive win came over the East leader, the 76ers 10-8 in overtime. Mike Ringley scored 5 in a losing cause for the 76ers. the loss was the first in six game for the Carroll Romney coached boys.

Other games last week showed the Fireballs taking over second place in the East with victories over the Jets 14-3 and Bullets 17-2. Brian Green with 12 and Jerry Beall hitting 14 gave the Fireballs the wins.

The Knicks won their game over the Cavaliers, with Rodney Rizer ripping the cords for 8 in an 8-2 decision.

The Cavaliers got revenge and got back on the winning trail by beating the bullets 5 to 0 as Mark Allsop hit for all 5.

The Lakers stayed close to the Globe Trotters in the West by dealing the Raiders a 4 to 2 loss with John Cinquigrani getting all 4.
