Full-Fledged Chaplain

February 11, 1943

Back from nine weeks of intensive training at Norfolk, Va., Chaplain Karl B. Justus, USNR, was spending a leave with his family and friends in Sykesville this week before going to active duty at sea.

Chaplain Justus expects to speak three times Sunday to the people of his former parish–Gaither, at 9:45 a.m., and St. Paul’s, at 11 a. m. and 8 p. m. His wife and son Fritzie have also been spending the week here, arriving from Baltimore, Ohio, for his graduation from chaplain’s school and brief stay in Sykesville.

He plans to leave on Monday, taking his family by auto back to the home of his wife’s mother in Ohio, and going on from there by train to the West Coast.
