School Striving For Quota of $3,000 In Bonds, $3,000 In Stamps

A special drive for the sale of Victory Bongs and stamps is being held at the Sykesville School. The Victory Bond Rally will feature a movie “Diary of a Sgt.” The school’s goal is $3,000 in stamps and bonds. If made, this $3,000 will buy a complete hospital unit, which is very badly needed as more of our wounded are being brought into the U.S.A. every day. For every $3,000 raised a plaque with the name of our school on it, saying that we have bought it, will be placed on the bed of the unit. A duplicate plaque will be sent to the school. Parents or students may buy bonds wherever they usually buy them and send a note to the school stating the number of bonds, the denomination of the bonds, and when they were bought, or they may be ordered directly through the school. Whichever way done, the information will be strictly confidential. Students of S.H.S. are anxious to do their part by equipping one or more hospital units. Remember–for every three dollars yo place in bonds four dollars will be received and our boys will have the use of your money now.

The Dramatics Club will sponsor and entertain at the Recreation this Friday, November 30. The school will be open from 8:30 to 11:15 p.m. Admission is 15c. The public is invited.

The third P.T.A. meeting will be held in the school auditorium on Monday, December 3, starting at 8 p.m.

The Senior Class of Sykesville High School will present “The Doctor Has a Daughter,” a comedy in three acts, by George Batson, on Thursday evening December 13, 1945 at 8:15 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
