Sykesville Marine Wounded In Korea

“Regret to inform you that your son, Pfc. Norman S. Stewart, USMC, has been wounded in action September 23, 1950, in Korean area in performance of his duty and service of his country.”

Thus read a telegram received by Mr. and Mrs. James A. Stewart, Sykesville, on October 5. In later communications directly from Pfc. Stewart it was learned that the local marine had sustained a leg wound. Flown out of Korea to a hospital in Japan, he is now recuperating at a rest camp.

Pfc. Stewart left Camp Lejeune, N. C. in July, He arrived in Japan in August and later was sent to the Korean front.
