Sykesville PTA To Hear Report On White House Conference

Dr. F. Reid Isaac, Executive Director of the Methodist Board of Child Care, will speak before the Sykesville School PTA Monday evening, May 2 at 8 o’clock. Dr. Isaac will report his observations, and some of the findings that came out of the recently convened Golden Anniversary White House Conference on Children and Youth.

Dr. Isaac, a Past-President of Sykesville School PTA, and former superintendent of Strawbridge Home, is a member of the Governor’s Commission on Juvenile Delinquency. He was recently elected Vice President of the National Association of Methodist Hospitals and Homes, and was one of the fifty-nine Maryland delegates to attend the White House Conference on Children and Youth. The purpose of the Conference, as stated it its theme, was “to promote opportunities for children and youth to realize their full potential for a creative life in freedom and dignity”.

Scheduled also for the Monday evening program is the installation of the new state of officers to be conducted by Mrs. William B. Culwell, outgoing President of the Carroll County Council PTA. A brief business session will be held, and will include a report on the Spring Fair and Smorgasbord. Refreshments will be served in the school cafeteria. Everyone is cordially invited to attend this meeting.
