Maryland Milling & Supply Company Lose Batteries

During the heavy fog of Tuesday night, between 8 and 8:30, some unknown party broke the cellar window of the Maryland Milling and Supply Company building, raised the catch and getting into the store proper, helped himself to two hot-pot batteries. In leaving the building the sneak thief unbarred the side door, crawled under the large gate, making his getaway by the coal yard entrance.

Sheriff Shipley has the matter in hand and expects to make an arrest today.

About 9 o’clock the same evening, as a young man who lives not far from Main Street, opened the kitchen door of his home to throw out a pan of water, an intruder stuck his foot in the door to keep it from being shut, but was frightened away,
