April 25, 1968

Sunday, May 5, is the date selected by the Eldersburg Improvement Association for the dedication of the new Community Center on Route 32, a quarter of a mile south of Route 26.

This building is the realization of a long standing ambition shared by a group of dedicated citizens.

A branch of the Davis Library is located in a section of the building, and the remainder of the building is to be used for community projects.

Principal speaker at the dedication will be the lion, Francis B. Burch, Attorney General of Maryland.

Gerald Birchett, Chairman of the Board of Carroll County Public Library, will speak concerning this new branch of the library. The master of ceremonies will be State Senator Charles E. Smelser.

Mrs. Raymond R. Beaty will be the soloist, and there will be music by the Sykesville School Band. Tours of the building, including the library area, will be offered, and refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the program.
