Wesley-Freedom Gets New Pastor

June 20, 1968

Effective June 16, the Rev. Albert Ketron Lane, Jr., was appointed as pastor of the Wesley-Freedom Church. Mr. Lane, a native of Baltimore, is a graduate of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and the Johns Hopkins University.

Before entering the ministry in 1964, he was employed as a contracting engineer by a steel company in Pittsburgh, Pa. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

For the past three years, Rev. Lane was pastor of the Liberty town Church, in Frederick County. Previously he served as pastor of the Jollytown Circuit in Western Pennsylvania.

On May 27, 1968 he received a bachelor of sacred theology degree cum laude from Wesley – Theological Seminary, Washington, D. C.

In 1955, Mr. Lane and Grace Ellen Wiley were married in Baltimore. The Lanes have four children: Albert, III, aged 11; Martha Ellen, aged 10; Jean Ann, aged 8, and Helen Louise, aged 3. During the week of June 16, the new pastor and family will move into the church’s parsonage on Liberty Road.
